5.5.09 – Grains of Peace met with Amin Maalouf

Grains of Peace had the great pleasure of having a private meeting with Amin Maalouf, following the conference at the University on May 5th.

In response to our question “What education do you suggest given the unbalance of the world” he replied “An education based on human values”. This is precisely one of the key principals of Grains of Peace.

We discussed with him our education kit that we are currently developing, especially the section on identity that will in particilar be inspired by passages from his book “On Identity”.

We strongly recommend reading this book, as well as his latest essay “The world’s moral dissolution”, a goldmine of information on the recent history of the world, especially the Near East.
